Amy Marcy

Welcome to the world of Amy Marcy, an artist who skillfully captures the essence of water in her unique sculptures. Her art is a celebration of fluidity, a dance with the ever-changing nature of water, frozen in time through the medium of sculpture. Her work invites viewers to explore the structure of water and the bold interplay of light and shadow.

Light, specifically, is the main focus of Amy’s work. The way it passes through water and reflects off the sandy floor creates luminescent refractions and those refractions are what have captured and inspired her the most, despite all the wonderful elements of water. Due to her use of resin, she is able to capture this effect through it’s transparency.

Medium Mastery: Amy sculpts primarily in clays and resins and through her chosen mendiums, she is able to capture the qualities of water. Her sculptures range from small, intricate pieces that perch in small spaces or nooks of bookcases to larger installations that transform spaces into aquatic sanctuaries.
